10 Make-up tips

here is 10 makeup tips!........

1.The most important makeup products that should be used daily are concealer, mascara and lip colour. Concealer will make you look less tired. Mascara will make your eyes appear larger than they are and more open. Lastly, lip colour accentuates a lovely smile. Now you´re ready to greet the world :)

2.Cosmetics have "gone bad" if they smell funny or if the formula has separated or dried out. Be especially careful with products used near the eyes as this is a sensitive area. If you suddenly react to a product that you have used faithfully, there may be bacteria forming, and therefore you have a reaction.

3. Give your complexion a healthy flush of colour by dabbing a cream blush onto the apples of your cheeks and then blend in. Bobbi Brown have a delicious array of colours to suit every skin tone in their Pot Rouge collection and the cream texture produces a youthful glow rather than a powdery finish.

4.Curl your lashes before using mascara as this will make you look more awake and your eyes will appear larger. Apply lashings of black mascara making sure it does not look clumpy but beautifully defined and separated.

5. Prepare the skin by using a ‘primer’. This will smooth out the surface of the skin and allow foundation to adhere better and last longer.

6.Always apply concealer after foundation.  Use cream based light-reflecting concealers around the eye  area and more powder based heavier-duty concealers on spots and blemishes.

7.Test foundation colour on the jaw line to find the exact match. Try at least two colours; the one that blends  away and doesn’t look noticeable is the correct shade.

8.Use bronzer on cheekbones, temples and nose as a quick fix to give the skin a more luminous healthy  appearance.

9.  You pat concealer in, you never rub it in We know this from watching the Tyra Banks show. When applying concealer, put a bit on the pad of your middle finger and pat it in. Never rub.

10.Don't play up the eyes and the mouth Women who wear heavy eye makeup and dark lipstick can look clownish. If you want to wear  red lipstick, keep the rest of your makeup light. If you are playing up the eyes, keep your mouth light with a gloss or light lip color that doesn't stand out.

Rimmel Vinyl Gloss

The next thing i bought was Rimmel Vinyl Gloss, its RRP is £4.99 which is the price i paid.

GOOD THINGS........... looks glossy and makes lips soft and curvy
BAD THINGS............... tastes disgusting and is very very sticky

What it claims..........

Rimmel's Vinyl gloss claims that it delivers a 'brilliant high gloss lasting shine which conditions & moisturises' as well as it being a 'lightweight, non-sticky formula'

Packaging.................

My first thought upon seeing this was slight disappointment because I think that it looks sorta cheap and tacky looking, a bit like those glosses from miss sporty ! I must admit that I expected a bit more class from Rimmel, but however, looks aren't everything (or are they?). The bottle is roughly 4 inches in length, and supposedly contains 5ml of lip-gloss  (must be kidding me on ). The bottle is clear so that you can see the product inside, with a rim of silver just under the cap, with the Rimmel logo. The actual cap itself black  and quite big.

The lip-gloss...............

Although this is a good lip-gloss it is VERY sticky and tastes HORRIBLE.  It does however make your lips look super shiny which is great, although I wouldn't say it gives a ''mirror shine'' as it claims to do so. Another good factor is that it DOES condition and moisturize, making lips visibly softer so it doubles up as a lip balm.

Despite its flaws - it's a good lip-gloss
no gloss on :((((((((((

Gloss on - soo glossy :)))))))

I bought 730 (cosmic) :]

Ruby & Millie Pre Base Review

The second thing i bought from boots was Ruby & millie pre base which is a facial primer, the RRP is £10 but i'm sure it cost me £11 :$.

GOOD THINGS.........Does hold make up in place, mattifies, good for oily skin :)
BAD THINGS............Can dry skin out, can flake, can't be used  along with Posie-tint from benefit :(

The Packaging................
The packaging is a very simple see-through tube with a shiny silver lid, with Ruby & Mille printed on it and the product showing through. It's quite a simple design that looks  classy and fits in well with the rest of the Ruby & Millie products.

WHAT IT CLAIMS................
It claims to cool the skin after you moisturize and prepare your skin for a smoother application of foundation. I haven't found the product cools my skin even slightly so I would say that  is untrue, although it's not that important too me . I don't apply my make up straight after moisturising but I would think that it would do is dry the skin out a little so that your make up wont just slide off like it could after you moisturize. Also it claims to eleminate grey skin.  I don't really have particularly grey skin, but the light pink formula I think would neutralise this quite well.

It claims your skin will look more matte, which I definitely agree with. If you have oily skin I think this would be the product for you as it really will dry it all up, and make your foundation stay there all day instead of sliding off your face.

The final claim is that it makes make up last longer which again I definitely agree with, apply your foundation in the morning and it will still look fresh at night.

WHAT IT DOES (for me).......................

The first time i used it my foundation did go on a lot smoother so i was really happy about that but my posie-tint didn't work on my cheeks !!!What I would say is if you use a blusher that sits on top of the rest of your make up, then this wouldn't be a problem, so go ahead and apply it to your whole face if that is the case, and your make up will last all day with no problems.

The next time I used it I applied it just where I needed  coverage, this is my nose, under my eye, and my chin. This worked better in that I was able to have full coverage in those places and then I didn't have to have foundation over my whole face, as I prefer not to . What I would say is that this works well, however it is quite tricky because you need to make sure with this that you are blending the foundation out as the Pre Base makes the foundation stronger than normal, so you wouldn't be able to just apply it to one bit and it not be noticeable. So when I apply like this I put my Pre Base on, apply foundation to those areas, then apply a little more just around them to blend out between my Pre Base area and the rest of my face. It really can take a lot of blending but the end result is full coverage where you want it, and a natural look for the rest of the face, without looking odd.

I do think that this product is great at doing what a primer is supposed to do - hold your make up in place all day long.  I will probably continue to use my tube but only when I feel my skin needs extra coverage somewhere , I would however think this product would be great for people with oily or shiny skin that struggle to get foundation to stay put.

Rimmel Perfect Match Foundation

Hey Everyone ! :3

So i went to my nearest Boots and snapped up a lot of different beauty must-haves but they'll all have a separate review.
First we are gonna start with one of my fave foundations Rimmel perfect match foundation.
 GOOD THINGS............Good coverage, smells nice ! :)
BAD THINGS.................too greasy, wears off after a few hours! :(

I bought this for £8.99 which is the recommended retail price.

The packaging.......
is quite beautiful in my opinion .  its sleek and smart and reminds me of some of the more expensive brands like LancĆ“me or dior.  The pump/nozzle is very easy to use and as long as you wipe the excess product off after every use it stays clean and doesn't clog up the pump. The tube which dispenses the product goes right to the bottom and bends so none of the product will be wasted just because because you can’t get to it which is really good. It also has a see-through plastic lid over the pump/nozzle to keep it safe and clean and to avoid any  mess in your cosmetics bag. The blue and white writing on the bottle is simple and understated which leaves you with a good impression of the brand.

The Foundation.......

One of the first things that i noticed about this foundation was that it had a fresh smell kind of like melons.
It has a medium-ish consistency which blends well on to your skin but you sometimes (always!) are left with a greasy residue which can be (is!) quite annoying.
it also wears off after a few hours which again is quite annoying as it normally wears off at the end of 1st period which means i only had it on for 2 hours :( I don't feel as if I am left with a massively luminous finish but it is also not dull either and this product is by no means weightless – I am always aware that I am wearing it even though it has an oxygen complex which should allow your skin to breathe. A big plus point about this product is that it contains SPF 15 so it keeps out those harmful rays all year round.

Would i buy again?
Yes if it was cheaper though!
