Review | Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer

One product i have been loving lately would be the  Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer.

This offers coverage like no other concealer i have ever tried!  I mainly only use it for dark circles as i already have a great concealer for redness and another for blemishes but it honestly is fantastic for covering up all 3.

I have this in number 9 and it is the perfect colour to hide the dark circle without leaving me washed out.

The only negative thing i would say about this concealer is that it has a really strong scent so if you are sensitive to smells , i wouldn't recommend this.

I don't think it lasts 15 hours as it claims , i can see it fading around the 8-9 hour mark but it is long lasting nevertheless.

Review | Soap and glory kick ass concealer

Does your concealer kick ass?  Mine says so but to see if it does keep reading.....

I have the kit in medium, the shades are really similar , just one is more salmon-y than the other to conceal eye circles. It also has a translucent powder.  I know a lot of people don't like the packaging as it is quite fiddly but i haven't had a problem with it and i have had it for 4 months now, so if you have trouble separating compartments as it can sometimes get stuck, I've heard, you may not like this.

I am sorry for the lighting but daylight is no more where i am and this is
the best picture to see the different tones :(
The powder is scarily white for someone who has a medium complexion like myself but rest assured that it actually is translucent. I do not care much for the sponge, i instead use a powder brush to set the concealer.

I liken the formula to erase paste as it does have the same creamy consistency but i will admit the S&G concealer sometimes feels greasy as it is very moisturizing. The coverage is good for the salmon-y one (i presume this is for eyes) although i have zombie-eye-circles so i use an extra concealer on top.

The face one is a little too dull for my liking ( i tend too use brightening concealers) so i hardly use it although coverage is good also.

Have you tried this concealer?  What did you think?

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer

Another day, another review.  I'm on a roll aren't I?  Anyway today's review is for Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer which is said to be many bloggers Holy Grail concealer.  Well I finally tried it and its now mine too!

It comes in 4 shades I chose medium 3 and it cost £4.19. I think this is the best price I have ever seen for a concealer that performs so well!

I used to steer clear of the collection 2000 stand (judging a book by its cover, I know) as the products used to look really tacky but thankfully this concealer is just a simple tube which has black printed writing on it * the writing will rub off after frequent use, my pictures were taken when I first bought it so that's why it looks nice and new *

What I like about the concealer is that it is soft and creamy but easy to blend, I also like how the wand inside gives the right amount of concealer rather than too much or too little.  It is amazing for hiding redness especially around the nose and is really good for minimizing dark circles around the eyes.  I've heard many people liken it to a certain YSL touché éclat (please tell me I’m not the only one who adopts a bad French accent when saying that) but alas I have never tried it so I cannot make a comparison.

Overall it is a great bargainous concealer worth every penny.  A must have if you ask me!

Window shopping in Benefit

play sticks

Playsticks ~ £25.50 - After reading several good reviews about this foundation / concealer/ powder and the fact it's oil free and gives a matte finish i really want to try this.

                             -----------------------------------------------------------------

erase paste

Erase paste ~ £19.50 - I have almost scraped the last of my current one which obviously means i loved it but at £19.50 it certainly doesn't come cheap!

                             ------------------------------------------------------------------

dallas

Dallas face powder ~ £23.50 - as i am olive skinned i think this would be the perfect colour for me and it would be my first venture into the benefit face powders as well.

                           --------------------------------------------------------------------
they're real! mascara

They're real mascara ~ £18.50 - it seems as though everyone has one of these mascaras and they all seem to have AMAZING lashes so hopefully these would make mine half as nice as that.

                           ---------------------------------------------------------------------
girl meets pearl

Girl meets pearl ~ £24.50 - I've used up 2 teeny-weeny samples of this and now i want the full sized one as it gives such a radiant glow.

Do you also like benefit as much as i do?

5 make up mistakes

1.Concealer Before Foundation-
If you're applying concealer to problem areas (pimples, spots, discolouration) before foundation, chances are that you're using more product than needed. Start with your foundation and spread it evenly. It gives some coverage and evens out things. Then add just enough concealer and blend it into your foundation. The result is more natural looking and far less likely to look caked.

2.Gloop on your lips
One layer of lip gloss—gorgeous. Four layers of gloss—ghastly. This is not the time to say, “the more the merrier.” And don’t think that the more gloss you put on, the more you’ll be kissed. Too much gloss is actually a turn off. Who wants to get stuck to all that gunk?

3.Using foundation as tan/bronzer
A foundation should always match your natural skin tone but unfortunately many women choose a foundation that is two or three shades darker than their skin tone and the result is a face that looks comically and unnatural. Most of the women think that a darker shade of a foundation will act like a bronzer and will create a summer tan but for this aim there are those specifically designed products called bronzers.
4. Clowning

Emphasizing both eyes and lips, using an intense makeup, in the same time can be a major no-no. So, if you want to bring out your eyes, try a lighter lipstick color for the lips, or, you can even try a lip gloss and if you want bright lips try a shadow that almost matches your skin tone or even no eye shadow

5. Circus - blush
we all know that blush adds a healthy touch to your look. But, when going for the bright pink color and apply it thickly without blending it the result might be quite hilarious and more circus-ish
