Vintage nail art tutorial

Hi everyone so a couple of days ago i got some dotting tools from amazon and so i had decided to do a bit of nail art.  Granted it isn't the best but for my first ever go , i think it is quite swish.

For my background colour i used rimmel peppermint
For the base of my floers i used revlon classy
For the detail of the flowers i used rimmel cranberry zest
For the leaves i used a nail polish which i made myself using graffiti eyeshadow from urban decay. ( if you want a tutorial let me know in the comments below.)

I even made a little visual aid for this tutorial ( i have a new found respect for graphic designers everywhere)

1. Paint your nails a mint green base colour
2. Paint some pink blobs (they don't need to be perfect) using a dotting tool
3. Paint the outline red with a swirl leading into the pink
3. Paint green lines on either side of the flower for leaves

Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial

Model's own - ibiza mix

For the most part i don't like to put glitter on my nails as i have home ec which means i have to cook.  But now and then i just can't resist putting a little sparkle into my life.

Application wise this was easy to work with and dried fairly quickly so that was great
Truth be told that i have never had as many compliments about my nails as i did with ibiza mix - it was so lovely that people actually notice my nails!
This nail polish was infuriatingly difficult to get a hold off (it took 5 months) but i got it in the end thankfully.

this nail polish is packed with multicoloured glitter in different sizes of glitter in a clear base.

I think this looks best over a simple base colour - i'm using rimmel's beige babe.

As it is only £5 i feel that if you happen to stumble across this colour then you should snap it up!!

Natural collection nail polish in antique coral

Now you may have or may not have noticed i'm somewhat of a nail polish fiend.  In fact i do change my nails at least once a week.  while i was in boots a couple of weeks ago (looking for an eyebrow pencil - didn't get one :( ) i saw the natural collection stand.  Now call me snobby but i don't normally go for this stand (but i do like the eyeshadow i got there ages ago)

Looks less pink in real life - way to go camera!!!

This nail polish says it coral but myself and everyone i asked have said it looks like a pinky orange.  When applying it used 3 coats.  On the first coat there is very noticeable shimmer but by the third coat it had become almost invisible which was a shame as the shimmer looked great

On the whole i think this is a lovely nail polish for less than £2.  Give it a go!!!

Essie muchi muchi

Yes!!! i finally bought my first essie nail polish last week and i couldn't wait to show everyone.  The reason i never really ventured into the essie bandwagon is mainly the price.  At £7.99 these are the higher end of high street.  But i needed a nice nude-almost-pink colour for my 'little' collection.

Now most nudes tend to really wash me out.  In fact the only nude that i can get on with is revlon's pink nude. This nail polish takes about 4 coats to get opaque, a lightyear to dry and it has now almost run out.  So while i was in boots i decided to take the plunge and get muchi muchi.

Muchi muchi is warm toned which is good for me as i am warm toned and other nudes do look really stark on me.  It took me two coats to achieve the coverage in the picture and it builds up really well. Drying time was great and i finished my nails in 5 minutes (success!) I personally like the big brush as i have wide nails and so it speeds up time.  However that being said i do think that if you have narrow nails you might find brush application a little messy and will require clean up afterwards.

On wednesday's we wear pink !

Today I have a lovely pink nail polish to show you it is Rimmel's rose libertine.

Formula wise, there isn't an awful lot to say.  It dried really quickly and it was opaque in two coats.

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream

Blueberry Ice Cream is part of the permanent nail polish range from Barry M.  It is a pastel pale blue which also manages to have a tiny bit of brightness.

The formula is amazing as it is opaque in one coat but I put 2 coats on by force of habit.

Sorry about the really bad clean-up of the nails but I was in a rush.

Overall for £2.99 you can't go wrong with this polish
