Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

Yes I have finally dabbled into the BB cream faze and I must say I’m not quite impressed.  So I should probably say first of all that a BB cream is basically like a tinted moisturizer which also has other benefits thrown in.  It is originally found in Asia but the craze has brought it here.

I love the packaging as it is fresh looking (does that make sense , I mean like it is clean and crisp looking ha-ha) and the fact it had a seal on it when I opened it , I like this because then I can be sure no one else has opened it before me.  There are a selection of shades (4 I think) so I chose dark and gosh it was like opening fake tan which incidentally I never use as I’m already really tan.

Claims
1.Creates a natural glow.
2.Compliments skin-tone.
3. SPF30 UV protection.
4. Hydrates all day.
5. Blurs imperfections.
6. Oil free - non greasy.
7. Looks visibly fresh.
8. Feels fresh.

Fortunately though it is a dream to blend as it was quite runny so it worked for me.  I liked the price (8.99) and it is good value for money in my opinion, it states that it adds a glow to your face and I have to disagree in fact it is semi matte.    It won't last very long on my skin (4 or 5 hours at most), its not very hydrating and also that it is crazy sheer so it is only for decent skin days and even then you will need extra cover such as concealer.

The only good things are that it is oil free and contains SPF 30 but then again so do other, probably better tinted moisturizers/BB creams

French Manicure with a twist!

I have wanted to wear a French manicure for some time now but I like my nails short so I tried false nails.  This was second time I have ever tried to wear false nails on and let’s just say the first time it didn't go so well.  I used elegant touch French manicure false nails.
On application I found the glue really hard to open even with scissors and therefore it was increasingly difficult to cover each nail evenly as it kept on clogging.
But when all that was over and done with, it looked alright.  For some reason to me it was just way to boring so to liven it up a bit I put a nice glittery pink nail polish on my accent nail called VIP by Orly (I think it stands for Very Important Polish - see what I did there ? ) Putting it on was really nice the pictures are with 2 coats but clean-up was so hard as you can most definitely see.
What I forgot was the next day I had horse riding which meant tacking up, riding and then untacking. Amazingly they survived so it was a big thumbs up from this makeup obsessed horse rider.
Overall it was ok but the false nails started to fall off after day 3 :(.

Beauty blender on a budget!

Firstly I have never tried the real McCoy (Beauty blender) so I cannot make a comparison between the two, I don't think I will ever be able to spend £16 on a sponge but I have a cheaper version called the cosmopolitan beauty sponge.
I have never liked to use wedge sponges as I think they use up too much product but I love using this especially for heavier foundations.
It is a pain in the keister to wash though which is why I still have a teeny bit of foundation left on it.

How I use it

I damp it using warm water and it somehow makes my foundation give me the illusion of having AMAZING skin as it is almost impossible to get a cakey finish.

You can find the beauty blender sponge in Superdrug although there must be limited stock as I tried 7 stores with no luck but eventually found it in the Braehead store near Glasgow .
